Former Defense Secretary Gilberto (GIBO) Teodoro, Jr. joins the call for a thorough investigation of the alleged hacking of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) computer systems. This he said in an interview here in DZRH.

Gibo Teodoro, a senatorial candidate, said that while believes in the integrity of the COMELEC officials, the hacking issue cannot be dismissed lightly in the face of serious breaches of computer systems of even the most powerful governments in the world. He said that confidence in the results of the elections is paramount in ensuring the stability of any democracy.

Gibo Teodoro, a former Tarlac congressman who has extensive experience both in the public and private sector, said that a principal pillar of his platform is the hardening of the country’s digital infrastructure and the people’s awareness of the importance of cyber hygiene in an increasingly digital environment.

Hardening of information technology infrastructure is increasing the security capabilities of all components within the infrastructure, including devices, software, network services and facilities.
