GIBO calls for incentives for those in national government

December 26, 2021

Former Defense Secretary Gilberto (GIBO) Teodoro, Jr. said there is a need to enhance the knowledge and experience of those in the national government because the incentives due to them are often neglected.

Gibo Teodoro, a lawyer and the 1989 Bar Topnotchers, said those in government are professionals who need opportunities and incentives in career growth and development. He said that other than livelihood and retirement benefits, the government employees must be motivated likewise in career and professional advancement prospects. Gibo noted that at this time, opportunities are mostly obtained through examinations and are often degree-based rather than skills and performance.

Gibo, a former Tarlac congressman, said that opportunities for advanced education should be given in order to develop expertise in our bureaucracy. He said that our national government leaders and employees must be afforded the best available studies and research to enhance their capabilities – bureaucracy being the spinal cord which provides continuity and expert policy guidance to our elected political leaders.
