Former Secretary of National Defense and senatorial candidate Gilbert (GIBO) Teodoro expressed his willingness to partner with ex-rebels who already returned to the fold of the law.

“I congratulate them (returnees) and want to partner with them in the path to national development,” the former DND chief said in an interview with Radyo Bandera Sweet FM Bacolod.

Gibo Teodoro, a former Tarlac congressman, and 1989 bar top notcher, recognized the ex-rebels’ decision to embrace the path of peace and development through national reconciliation.

Gibo Teodoro called on the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army (CPP-NPA), especially those in the Visayas and Mindanao, not to take advantage of the current situation brought about by Typhoon Agaton to take an offensive against uniformed personnel.

“Ang mga sundalo natin are busy in rescue and recovery efforts and bringing relief goods sa affected areas,” Gibo Teodoro said. “This is one of those instances na puwedeng ipakita natin na nagkakaisa tayo at nagtutulungan para sa ating mga kapwa na naapektuhan ng distaster na katulad nito.”
