GIBO: PH has to prepare for future health crises

April 20, 2022

Former Secretary of National Defense and senatorial candidate Gilbert (GIBO) Teodoro said the government should continue to invest in healthcare facilities to prepare the country for another health crisis in the future. Gibo Teodoro said the government should learn from the COVID-19 pandemic, which caught the whole world off guard, to reduce the adverse effects of the next public health concerns.

During the Pandesal Forum at the Kamuning Bakery, the former Tarlac congressman and 1989 Bar topnotcher said that he will prioritize giving higher budget for healthcare facilities.

“Now, first and foremost, it is still a health issue – that our gaps in the supply chains and bed capacities be addressed in case there is another surge,” the senatorial candidate said.

He said that he will also push for higher pay and benefits for healthcare workers for them to be encouraged to stay and serve in the country.

Gibo Teodoro also bats for continuing support for the recovery of businesses as well as social amelioration for marginalized communities, farmers, and fisher folks.
