The implementation of an Intelligent transport system (ITS) is one of the electoral promises made by People’s Reform Party member and UniTeam Senate bet Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro.

“We should upgrade our mass transportation. Intelligent transport systems can provide real-time information for motorists and commuters on traffic as well as the timing and availability of public transportation like trains and buses,” Teodoro said in a press statement on Thursday, March 3.

ITS makes use of data applications such as the Global Positioning System (GPS) to provide information pertaining to navigation, timing, and traffic management.

According to Teodoro, investing in ITS and implementing it specifically in Metro Manila and highly-urbanized locales could ease traffic for private vehicles and motorists.

He explained that it would also improve the timing and availability of public transportation.

Teodoro then vowed to push for inclusive mobility in the transportation sector, targeting persons with disabilities (PWDs) and the elderly.

“This would help Filipino workers as they start to go back to their workplaces under the new normal,” he added.

Teodoro is running for Senate under the UniTeam banner led by presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and vice-presidential candidate Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
