March 26, 2022

Former Secretary of National Defense and senatorial candidate Gilbert (GIBO) Teodoro wants to promote the culture of innovation in the government to improve its services to the public.

Gibo Teodoro said that while the government urges businesses to invest in emerging and disruptive technologies, the public sector should also apply these innovations to streamline bureaucratic processes and help in decision making as well as designing future policies.

“Innovation in government is beyond purchasing and using new technologies. It is also capacitating our human capital and investing in research and development,” the former Tarlac congressman and 1989 bar top notcher said.

Gibo Teodoro supports the enhanced funding for the “Balik Scientist” Program of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) which would help in creating an innovation culture in the government.

“The government also needs to step up in investing in financial technology, biotechnology, and cybersecurity, among others. This can revolutionize the way we commonly do things in the public sector,” Gibo Teodoro said.
