January 19, 2022Former Defense Secretary Gilberto (GIBO) Teodoro, Jr. said that it is through mass vaccination can the country mitigate the ongoing rapid spread of the Covid-19 virus and its variants. This he said in an interview on DZRH Damdaming Bayan.
Gibo Teodoro, a senatorial candidate, said that social distancing, though an effective means is not applicable in many areas as houses are built very close to each other and sanitation facilities are wanting. He said that it is unfortunate that some people cannot even afford and acquire alcohol, sanitizers and other disinfectants.
Gibo Teodoro, a former Tarlac congressman, acknowledged the Department of Health (DOH) project “National Covid-19 Vaccination Day” but at the same time urged that this be conducted as a continuing program and not just for a number of days.
Gibo Teodoro called on the government to expedite and increase focus on the mass vaccination program as this is a logistical challenge. He said in typhoon ravaged areas the priority is recovery but vaccination is essential just the same.
