Former Defense Secretary Gilbert (GIBO) Teodoro said that there must be specific policies for the formal and informal workers with regards health and safety. He said that there are problems with “one size fits all” policies as implementation and results will be difficult and wanting.

Gibo Teodoro, a candidate for senator, recommends that the national government allow and support private enterprises to conduct their own health and safety programs, specifically in vaccination, for as long as these are in keeping with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) regulations. He said that this is ideal for the big companies and organizations as their health programs will trickle down to the Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMSEs) engaged or doing business with them.

With regards the informal sector such as the street vendors, Gibo Teodoro, a former Tarlac congressman, said that the Local Government Units (LGUs) must have localized policies. He mentioned registration and organizing the members of this sector, giving them a safe place to conduct their trade, vaccinate, and provide health services.
